Promoting Management Leadership and a Respectful Workplace

Presented by:
Canadian Institute of Management - British Columbia/Yukon Chapter

PROMOTING WORKPLACE DIVERSITY: PETER P. FERNANDES
During recent years, the composition of the workplace has been changing resulting in an increased need to educate employees and harmonize various differences by managing and promoting diversity in the workplace. In promoting diversity, the underlying philosophy refers to respecting individual differences and making sure that those differences do not create barriers to service delivery and professional growth. This seminar will deal with concepts and practical ways of promoting diversity and creating a respectful workplace.

SERVANT LEADERSHIP: LARRY WATKINSON
Modern day management requires overcoming team dysfunctionality by way of servant leadership and peer to peer accountability. Although not a new concept, Larry has modernized it and made it a living daily activity that the fire service and the community he serves connects with.
