Call for Nominations for the National Board
CIM is an organization driven by volunteers and supported by dedicated staff responsible for day-to-day operations. As the organization continues to move forward with implementation of a strategic plan that supports growth, focus and service excellence, the role of the National Board is changing from operational to strategic. As we approach the AGM for 2010, it is time to start thinking about nominations for the election of National Directors.
This year the board will have one (1) position available. Each position is a three (3) year term. Individuals who are interested in serving on the national board are invited to submit their names to the Chair of the Nominating Committee by email. (pastpresident@cim.ca)
As the Institute, transitions from operations or a working board to a modified governance board, directors are required to make a significant commitment of both time and expertise. Directors should anticipate an average of 4-6 hours per week volunteering on CIM related activities.
As part of the process to ensure a strong and balanced national board, a skills matrix of required competencies has been developed. The various positions on the board have been evaluated under this matrix and particular skills match with specific positions.
The nomination form and skills matrix are below. These forms need to be completed and returned to the Chair of the Nominating Committee before April 30, 2010. All nominees are required to provide an updated resume.
